When people think of El Nido, they think of picturesque beaches, limestone cliffs and crystal clear waters. El Nido is a great place to dive, with dive sites for all kinds of divers. There are wall and drift dives, as well as tunnels and deep dives. Whether you are coming up to try scuba diving for the first time to a divemaster, there are tons of dive sites for everyone. What makes this place even better, is that after your dive there is always things to do in El Nido, from laying on one of the best beaches in the World (Nacpan Beach) to climbing mountains (Taraw Cliff) to one of the many island tours.

El Nido is known for macro organisms, and there are thousands of different species that you can encounter. I went diving with Aquanaut Dive Center, a very professional dive center with great equipment, knowledgeable dive masters and a great shop. They were tons of fun and a special thank you to my DM Henri for a great day. I would highly recommend this dive center.

I’ve always heard that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking in this post.

In three dives I was able to see an abundance of wild life including a frog fish that are pretty hard to find. The visibility was about 20M and the water was 27C. I was able to photograph the following:

  • frog fish
  • hornet ghost pipe fish
  • nudibranch
  • trumpet fish
  • big puffer fish
  • lion fish
  • multiple turtles
  • long fin grouper
  • barracuda

For this dive, we used a DSLR with Nauticam Underwater housing and a gopro hero 4 Black with Spivo Stick.
